I just moved this past week and have been having tons of problems with Cox Cable regarding my internet (as well as my phone & cable too)......hence no posts on the site lately. Really? Why do I need a new account number, or to "let them know" that I wanted my personal e-mail addresses transferred over, and don't offer me "deals" if you are going to just charge me the full price for them anyways, and why does my same cable box & modem need to be "reactivated".......and the list goes on and on and on. Bottom line, if they didn't have Padres baseball then I'd be gone. I called them about 6-7 times getting everything squared away and things still aren't 100%. Anyways, I'm gonna wrap up a few of the random thoughts that have been racing through my head......
1. If you haven't already, go get your tickets for Beerfest. Our buddy Friarhood Steve worked his magic and has a promo going right now where you can get some great seats for only 16 bucks. Go here and then use the code friarhood.
2. The 8 game winning streak was nice while it lasted. This team has been putting it all together lately...starting pitching, hitting & the bullpen....and appear to be taking over where they left off last season. The great thing is, it appears that people are finally taking notice too. Let's hope they can keep it up for the whole season because the NL West has tons of flaws and it's anybodies shot this season.
3. I just got the MLB At Bat app for my phone. That thing is great (especially considering Cox has been a bitch lately). If you were wondering, like I was, if it was worth the $14.99 price tag........YES IT IS!
4. I had an incident with a member of the Padres a while back. I won't mention the name, nor will I mention what exactly happened, but honestly I thought about giving up the blog. I'm just doing this for fun and if that asshole wants to make a big deal out of something that wasn't, then screw it. Then I thought about it some more and realized I wasn't going to let one person F up all the fun I've been having lately and I'm going to continue with this here blog. Thanks to all the loyal readers who've stuck around through the site transfer & my lack of posting. The Fro team will be posting a lot more now.
5. And I've been slacking in the Breakfast Burrito challenge.....
Leftover from the first post......1.5 Breakfast Burritos
Game #8 - 1 Steal
Game #9 - 0 Steals
Game #10 - 0 Steals
Game #11 - 2 Steals
Game #12 - 2 Steals
Game #13 - 1 Steal
Game #14 - 4 Steals
Game #15 - 1 Steal
Game #16 - 1 Steal
Game #17 - 0 Steals
Game #18 - 2 Steals
14 Steals = 7 Breakfast Burritos
Damn you Padres. 8.5 Breakfast Burritos is not an easy task. I know a certain someone who is going to be having a lot of breakfast burritos for dinner here soon to catch up.
6. Adrian Gonzalez just passed up Tony Gwynn for 4th place on the all-time Padres home runs list with 136. He only needs 27 more to catch Nate Colbert as the all-time leader. That means he'd have to hit one every roughly 5 games the rest of the season. It's pretty safe to say he has that locked up. The big question was if he'd still be with the team long enough. But with the way the team has been playing so far, I don't see a trade going down in the near future.
That's all for tonight.....it feels good to have the internet at home once again. That is until Cox says I have to "activate" something else.
